The anticipation was palpable, but so too were the financial strains of this final push. Consequently, he decided to celebrate by joining his close-knit group of friends for dinner. Their camaraderie and shared journey towards their respective professional goals made the evening all the more special.
However, as the night progressed, the merriment turned into mirth, and eventually, into a tempestuous bout of merriment that culminated in Chan-woo getting thoroughly intoxicated. The next thing he knew, he was waking up in the unfamiliar surroundings of his next-door neighbor's room—completely disoriented and with no recollection of the events that led him there.
Adding to the surrealism of the situation, a gory sight met his eyes: a lifeless body sprawled in the center of the room, drenched in its own blood. Shocked and terrified, Chan-woo's initial reaction was one of pure panic. But amidst the chaos, time seemed to stand still as he scrambled for his phone to call the authorities.
Unfortunately, in his drunken stupor, he had left the device in another part of the house. Desperation and urgency set in as he realized that the door leading back to his room was locked tight from the inside. With no other option, Chan-woo resorted to a risky maneuver: using a rope and window ledge outside his room, he swung himself into his neighbor's room.
Once he regained possession of his phone, the relief was short-lived as he found the hallway bustling with an unsettling presence—a group of cultists zealously proselytizing the neighbors.
